Telephoned at around 9.30am, chap said he was able to get to me today, but not until the afternoon. Gave me a rough time, and was at my house at the estimated time. Great efficiency! he proceeded to look at my machine, pressing a few buttons. he then unscrewed the filter, and there was a small pebble/stone stuck. it took less than a minute to remove this, rescrew the filter and try the machine again on a cycle. the guy was at my house, 20 minutes MAX (enough time to wait for the 14 minute cycle to finish, and have a cup of tea.) When i asked 'what the damage was' he said, '45 pound'
in shock, i paid him in cash...no receipt given to me, and a swift exit! due to this, i will not be using him again, a shame, as he was a friendly guy...just a very expensive one! it would have been a different matter, had he used materials, said there was a call out fee, or if there was any real labour!
